Overview

Spotex was built on a simple conviction: institutional market participants deserve better than the infrastructure they've been handed.

Since 2014, Spotex has designed and delivered modular execution technology for FX brokers and institutions — built from the ground up for speed, transparency, and flexibility. Where legacy systems forced participants into rigid, one-size-fits-all workflows, Spotex gave them the tools to build their own: disclosed DMA liquidity pools, discrete brokerage hubs, and direct access to a low-latency ECN.

Today, Spotex serves leading global brokers and institutions across both FX and digital assets — bringing the same institutional-grade execution standards that have defined its FX business to a new generation of crypto market participants.

Leadership

John Miesner – CEO

With over 30 years of experience in the foreign exchange markets, John has held senior leadership roles across major global financial institutions. At Standard Chartered Bank, he served as Foreign Exchange Chief Dealer in both New York and London from 1985 to 2000, during which he drove significant revenue growth and delivered measurable business impact.

In 2000, John joined Hotspot FX as Global Head of eSales, a role he held until 2014. During his tenure, Hotspot FX became one of the first buy‑side electronic communication networks (ECNs) in the FX market and was successfully acquired by Knight Capital Group in 2006.

In 2015, John joined GTX, the institutional electronic FX division of Gain Capital Group, where he led Global Sales. Under his leadership, strong sales performance and revenue growth contributed to the strategic value of GTX, culminating in its acquisition by Deutsche B�rse in 2018.

Chris Mitchell – COO

Chris is a founding member of Spotex and brings over 30 years of leadership experience across global capital markets, financial services, and technology.

Prior to co-founding Spotex, Chris served as Chief Executive Officer of Compliance Technologies International LLC, where he oversaw all global operations. He also spent 12 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a Managing Director and Head of Technology. In this capacity, he partnered with leading Wall Street firms and international organizations to architect strategic technology and compliance solutions. More recently, Chris has served as Chief Technology Officer for several emerging global organizations, further deepening his expertise in high-growth financial technology.

Ritesh Agrawal – CTO

With a career spanning over 27 years in financial technology, Ritesh Agrawal has always been driven by a passion for innovation and problem-solving. From building real-time foreign exchange systems to pioneering solutions in digital markets, he has worked with leading firms like Knight Capital and GFI Group, mastering the art of technology, automation, and risk analytics.

Ritesh founded Spotex to bring his vision of smarter, more efficient FX and digital market solutions to life. Drawing on decades of experience and insights from senior management roles, he leads the company with a focus on helping businesses navigate the fast-paced and ever-evolving world of global markets.
